Community Fan Art!

I shouldn’t need to explicitly say this but our community is so awesome! Here’s an example of why:

We have a couple young kids who have started coming in on a regular basis to learn how to play Warhammer 40K. Like most people just getting into the hobby, they had a lot of questions about everything from the rules to modeling and painting. Everyone on our staff plays Warhammer 40K and they love helping new players learn.

In the past couple weeks these new kids on the block have had all their questions answered by our staff and as a way of saying thanks, they created fan art based on the armies played by our staff members! We loved them so much that we took pics of them to share with you!

Saturday Night is now Board Game Night!

We’ve been stocking board games for over a year now, and while we have lots of people in our store playing board games all the time, we’ve never really had a dedicated night for them.  Until now!

For the last few months we’ve had some of our regulars come in on Saturday nights to play board games.  For a while it became a pretty regular thing so we got the idea to start inviting people from our other board game night (Thursdays at Brewpoint Coffee) to join us.  It’s kind of grown into its own thing and it got to the point where we decided to make it official.

So now every Saturday night from 6-10pm we’re inviting everyone who wants to join us for board game good times.  The format is relaxed and casual.  There is no specific board game agenda for any given week (unless people request it).  We have a good selection of board games in the store for people to choose from and everyone is welcome to bring their favorite games to share and teach to others.

Board gamers of all experience levels are welcome.  We love to teach people new games and we love learning new games from others.

Oh yeah and it’s free!

We’re on TV! Kind of

Last week our store was featured in a segment about Nintendo’s gimmicky history on the Onion A.V. Club’s new TV show on the fusion network!  Check out the preview clip below:

The A.V. Club: Nintendo Gimmicks

Tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Fusion TV, The A.V. Club takes a look back at Nintendo’s weird, gimmicky design choices.

We’ve launched our new website!

After a long period of rework, our new website has finally launched!  Greg tried to do it all himself but he hasn’t been a developer in at least five years so we hired a rad dude named Ryan Christensen to do all things Greg forgot how to do.

New features include:

  • It’s finally mobile-friendly!
  • New and improved events calendar powered by  Calendarwiz with way more features than before!
  • New blog that we will be updating on a regular basis.  Check the News section for updates!
  • Simplified pages for fast loading on all devices and so that you can find what you’re looking for easily

If you run into any problems while navigating the new site, please let us know by sending an email to
